11.13.2009 - Mission accomplished!
Defeating 3-2 the French team of Levallois, Yang Min's team keeps on its way at first position of round C.
The challenge begun uphill, Joao Monteiro faced Hou, absent in the first round; the victory of the first game was immediately succeeded by the adversary's predominance, Joao had to surrender to the Chinese. Successively, Guo Jinhao and Mihai Bobocica defeated 3 to 0 Rubstov and Lebesson, respectively; great performance by Bobo who, in disadvantage 10-7, in the last game, was able to recover and to obtain game and match, conquering the 2-1 score.
Guo afterwards did not manage to stand Hou's ground, who won 3-0. Again a standoff, the result now depending on the last match, between Rubstov and Joao Monteiro.
Monteiro lost the first game, 11 to 7 but he immediately gained the second game, helped by his great determination and ability. The "neverending" match went on until the fifth game, since Rubstov and Joao got the third and four game, respectively. Last game, Joao started focused and confident without losing his patience: 4-1 for him, the starting point for the umpteenth victory that would mean for Sterilgarda turning for the qualification.
Never an Italian team has been able to enter among the better 8 European clubs until now.

Nothing to do for the lineup of Catalin Negrila opposed to the stron club Infinity Heerlen. The away match on the ground of the seeded team ended 3 to 0. The same result as the first round: 3-0 after only an hour and a half. Wenling Tan Monfardini being benched, the efforts of Nikoleta Stefanova, Daniela Dodean and Xiaoxin Yang turned out to be useless against Li Jiao, Li Jie and Ni Xialian. This third defeat complicates the way of our team towards the Cup.
