When one activity start, often is not for to go down in history, but sometimes thanks to somebody's ability, will, commitment and why not just a little of fortune, this become true.
This has happened to Castel Goffredo whit his tabletennis team that today is the most important sport's activity. Whit his tabletennis team (thanks to successes) Castel Goffredo is now famous in all the world.
This team that now is famous whit Sterilgarda Castel Goffredo name, born in the far 1977.
Like every team of that times also this team start his activity in the church's ambient, where one sporting priest (Don Giuseppe) started whit for guys to play in province.
For external match, the team needed of one driver, and the priest asked to Diego Bonoldi, this guy stired after one of two match and became "trainer, general manager, and director" practically all that team needed.
First signal that director's job was good, were that number's holding a membership card growed and Bonoldi needed of somebody that helped him, so, Roberto Stanghellini and Matilde Fenotti entered in the helpers team.
The first big Change was around 1984 when started to play one little girl, that immediately to catch the eye and after few months started to win out of province. That girl was Laura Negrisoli.
Whit Laura the team started to go everywhere, in the first times only for the tournament (also national, one dream only one year before) after also whit team for many championships, until "serie A".
Around nineties in the club play many young player, the machines now is very big, so the manager needed of help, in the team played two guys that were sons of Franco Sciannimanico (ex general manager, present president of Italian tabletennis federation) and Elia Mazzi (president of the team).
Whit this two new manager the company made one big jump forward, because they changed all from amateur to professional. In this years also other two guys entered in the company, Paolo Stori and Roberto Cerini.
At the end of nineties arrived one important sponsor like "Sterilgarda Alimenti", and thanks to this new sponsor the team growed again, not only whit the woman team, but also whit the man team.
In the 2002 and 2003 "Sterilgarda Castel Goffredo" was Italian Champions whit both of team, but the top for the club didn't come yet, in fact after three years (2006) will arrive the firs Champions League (whit woman team).
This was very historical success because nobody in Italy before "Sterilgarda Castel Goffredo" won something in Europe.
For the company are very important the yang players, every days "Sterilgarda Castel Goffredo" try to find new player (until now play 250 guys) for export Castel Goffredo's name out of Italy also whit a yang player, how often happen the work win, in fact new strong player has started in "Sterilgarda Castel Goffredo" (Leonardo Mutti, Damiano Seretti on top).
Unfortunately, the club knows a sad moment, 28 January 2008 the president Elia Mazzi dies suddenly. On top of society there is now his wife Rita.
